Two new reporters for “Noticiero Telemundo62” in Philadelphia

Telemundo62 Philadelphia / WWSI today announced Alexandra Galarza will join WWSI as general assignment reporter and Brian Mendoza will join the Telemundo62 news team as South Jersey reporter, effective Monday, May 15. Both will report for the station’s local newscast, Noticiero Telemundo62that airs weekdays at 5 PM, 5:30 PM, 6 PM and 11 PM (ET).
“Alexandra and Brian bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Telemundo62,” said Damaris Bonilla, Assistant News Director for Telemundo62. “Their news gathering and storytelling skills are a great asset to Telemundo62. We look forward to having them on our team.”
Born and raised in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Alexandra Galarza previously worked as a multimedia journalist and reporter at Spanish-language stations in Philadelphia and Atlanta, including WUVP Philadelphia and WUVG in Atlanta, Georgia. Galarza earned her bachelor’s degree in Journalism with dual concentrations in Telecommunications and Spanish from Georgia State University. She is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) and resides in South Philadelphia.
Brian Mendoza, who will be covering South Jersey news, comes to Telemundo62 from Spanish-language station WUNI in Boston, where he served as a multimedia journalist and fill-in anchor. Prior to this, Mendoza worked as an anchor and producer at Telemundo affiliate station in Abilene, Texas. Also hailing from Ecuador, Mendoza earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Houston. Mendoza resides in Williamstown, New Jersey.
